I probably shouldn't answer this. I really don't know. I do know that statin drugs can affect it in a negative way. That I do know...from personal experience. Not me, my husband.

Cholesterol is needed for the manufacture of sex hormones, such as estrogens, testosterone, and progesterone, as well as their precursor molecules, like DHEA, DHEA-S and pregnenolone. So, if cholesterol levels are very low, it's possible that it would adversely affect the production of these hormones.

No, I think the opposite is probably true for most people...HIGH cholesterol is bad one's sex life.
THere is nothing wose for male plumbling than plaque deposits and nothing worse for libido than the likelihood of poor performance.

It take only micrograms of cholesterol to produce all the sex hormones one needs for a week and the body is fully capable of making megatimes that amount on a moment's notice.

Whatever the case may be, cholesterol-lowering drugs such as statins have been known to cause erectile dysfunction in some men, although it has not yet been determined if it is from their cholesterol-lowering effect or some other mechanism.
