I just found out that I have hep c genotype 2 and I'm suppose to start treatment next week for 6 months. I'm very scared after reading a lot of stuff. I work a full time job. Not sure if I should tell anyone at work. Any good advice will help.
Thanks

For me I did it for 6 months and I think it was a big mistake because my body is going through alot of changes an I am having a lot of pain in the body and I am tired all the time and most of the time I cannot do as much as I did before but I would not say don't do it for you cause you might experience a difference.
When I was doing the meds I didn't feel all that bad but it did make me tired alot and it took 4 days after I took the shot to feel like I could function again.
I think now that I am not on the meds I am feeling the full extent of what the medicine did until you stop taking it all together because I do not feel as good as I use too.

Side effects are very individual. I have tried three tx (IFN, PEG-IFN, daily Ingergen). It was tough, but I was able to work all the time - I am working in the office, not manually.

My advice is don't take that interferon poison. It could ruin your life, it did mine. And don't tell coworkers. Truth is, you will be judged in a negative light and life is hard enough without being judged. Some don't like my opinion against treatment and not sharing details about health, but its real. Treatment is terrible and people can treat your terribly out of fear for their own safety/health reasons.
Hope this helped.

I would suggest to try drinking ********** juice before you try any other treatment.
It is a juice that rich of antioxidants and anticancer.
A friend of mine had leukemia and hepatitis C. He is healthy right now due to the ********** juice.

You are very smart to be scared of treatment. I don't mean to crush your hope, but the treatment is poison to the body and there is NO cure. My doctor actually told me that treatment simply hides the virus for a short time. It is NOT a cure. You will always have hep C until they actually find a cure. Right now there is too much unknown science. You didn't say how old you were. I've had hep C since I was 24 or thereabouts. I am 60 today, never treated. Yes I have had to fight fatigue, but I have lived a normal life as long as I get my rest each day and take my vitamins, and herbs. Most the time I feel fairly normal. I've always worked a second shift or after 10 or 11 AM job, so I can sleep until my body awakes on it's own. This is when I feel my best. You can not consume alcohole or drugs which is poison to the liver. Try building your ammune system with vitamins, herbs, and good food. I have found a day without my rest and vitamins effects my energy level greatly. There are books that can educated you on which vitamins to take and not to take. Or as I did, you can see a good vitamin / herb doctor. I have a formula given me from a chineese herb doctor and it works for me. Forgive me if I have frightened you, but it really upsets me that doctors are making people so sick with treatments that destroy and confuss the immune system leading to other ailments. Nothing can beat making the body stronger to fight the monster virus. Weakening the body with foriegn substances only gives way to further invassion once the virus recoops from the treatment. THERE IS NO CURE AT THIS TIME. Treatment is like tying and shackling the virus until it escapes to to show it's fury on an even weaker body immune system than before. Please everyone, don't poison your body. God knows what effects they will find later find from the treatments. There is still too much unknown science. Trust God and your prayers. I have and it works.
Good Luck and God Bless.

Wow. I am so glad I didn't read this thread before I started my treatment. I know that everyone is different but, wow. I take my 4th shot tomorrow and I'm ok. I didn't expect it to be an easy ride but I fully expect it to work and to be whole again very soon. If you go into anything with a bad attitude you won't get what you need out of it. I don't mean to sound preachy but before you make a decision, please try and read everything you can. Everyone is different and everyone will handle it differently. Research and learn, that is the key. Then make your individual decision, what works for YOU!!!!

I just took my sixth shot. I just feel like I have a minor flu coming on a few days out of the week. I am moody and tired more easily. I have not missed work yet and I am a bartender. My husband went through the hole tx of 24 wks and he never missed work either. He feels fine now. He does enjoy his naps in the afternoons still. He has been undetectable for over a year now.

I took shot #4 yesterday. Unfortunately I started the day off with a headache that turned into a migraine. But I woke up without it, thankfully. Feeling ok right now, just mad that I can't sleep. But, other than that, I'm good. Out of all 4 weeks I have only had 2 bad days and they were not unbearable.
