View Full Version : Clomipramine - zombie?

Hello,

Im feeling really bad at the moment, I have depression and OCD really bad. Im 18 and male by the way.

Ive just started taking Clomipramine (10mg/day). Ive taken it just for 2 days now but I feel like a zombie. In a way its quite nice because I dont care as much about bad stuff. But I feel a bit motion sick and just generally weird.

I was on fluoxetine (prozac) for a few months a while back and it basically did nothing. Im told this is like the opposite because it de-stimulates. Its certianly having some sort of effect on me.

Is anyone else taking it, I really really hope someone is cause im feeling quite alone here, I really dont know of anyone who has ever taken it. My dose is quite low, the max daily dose people take is 250mg, 25x what im taking, but the avearge is about 50mg.

I'm gonna try it for a little bit because its like a last resort, I just wondered if anyone else has taken it, and what it did.

Have you thought of getting to the bottom of your disorders with some counseling? Meds can have health complications. That med is very sedating; you shouldn't drive while taking it and at your age I am assuming you drive or want to. You could be a danger to yourself or others behind the wheel. Type in the drug name in a search to get details on this drug. Most doctors will not take the side-effects too seriously so it's up to you to.

I have counselling aswell, and in discussions between my doctor and my counseller, they agreed that it was best for me to take it. Its for the OCD aswell.

I am having driving lessons, but im not desperate, and could cope with not driving, I would never drive if I felt dizzy or tired, like it recomends.

Im really hoping this is going to work for me. The OCD is awful, does anyone else have it?

Thanks for the site.
