Hello,

I know its long but please bear with me I would really appreciate any advice or imput.

For the past year and a half i have done every no no in hair care to my hair. Before I make my list, ive always had fine hair but not to the point where u can c my scalp through my bangs nor to the point where you can c gaps here and there if my hair is not perfectly combed into place.

My list of horrible things i have done to my poor hair:

-a little over a yr n a half ago highlights
- using pantene
-washing everyday with pantene
-blowdrying every day
-when my nice blow dryer with medium setting broke (about 5-6 months ago) using a blow dryer thats realllly hot
-about 1 month ago i would wahs my bangs n blowdry them like twice a day for a week
-STRESSed out to the max (just started university about 5 months ago and am tryin to keep a perfect score)
-got some weird bacterial infection on my scalp for like 2 weeks (due to the huge amount of stress no doubt about 3 months into school)
-didn't comb so gently when hair was wet

I just started noticing in the last 3-4 months my bangs are thinning, my scalp is wayyyy more visible, my hair is thinner. I am not losing alot of hairs (now about 50-80 a day) but about a month ago i lost alot (it was NEVER falling out in handfulls though). My hair was DRY, WEAK and breaking.

I now henna my hair, its very shiny and healthy looking, no longer dry. (I've been hennaing for 1.5 months, its been three times). The color is great, my hairstrand seems thicker. But now more than ever i can notice all my missing hair, just two months ago it was not this bad, yes my hair was dry and unhealthy but it was there. I know now that i have hennad and my hair is darker my scalp just stands out more but i really have lost alot of hair recently.

I now also have been taking Vitamin B complex for a month and just started drinking this oganic thing with kelp and a bunch of things meant to strengthen hair. I try not to blow dry so often. I still wash ever day because my hair gets oily however I use organic shampoo.

Now that you know my entire situation, or most of it, (thank you so much for reading all of that) is there hope for what I've lost to all come back? Or is there permanent/irreversable damage that I just have to deal with. I don't want false hopes just the truth. I would like to point out that its not in my head ppl have been noticing (like my bf and my mom). I do have baby hairs that seem to be about as thick as my normal hair, a little thinner but Im guessing because the shaft hasnt grown out yet.

So yes where do I stand? Is there hope?

I am in my 20's female and have hair loss. You need to go to your doctor and check into health issues. The hair does come back. Not the same as before. Mine goes through phases. In the winter I loose a ton. It comes back in the summer. But this could be health related. Autoimmune diseases cause hairloss. But should it come up with nothing shampoo with a body adding shampoo. Do not use conditioner (that weighs down the hair). THe less greasy the hair the better. I use a spray on conditioner on my ends only 3 times a week and a regular conditioner about once every two weeks. Otherwise I shampoo very carefully so I do not get knots and comb my hair out very carefully.
