Hello,

I wrote a while ago about muscle spasms, which I thought were due to paxil which I was taking 30mg of daily for a few months. That and the fact that paxil didnt help my anxiety, I switched to zoloft. Zoloft has really seemed to do MIRACLES for me... I've been able to meet a guy, I am comfortable and happy at work, my stomach pains are gone.. its really quite remarkable. The only problem is, the muscle twitching (particularly in my arms!) hasn't gone away, and in fact most days you can see it (and boy can I feel it), ESPECIALLY after any sort of alcohol consumption. I know technically I shouldnt be drinking any alcohol, but I enjoy a good drink now and again. Another major problem with either aspirin consumption or the alcohol is I always end up with MASSIVE... I mean Gigantic, disgusting bruises. right now, my entire right arm is a pulpy purple mess! Its very unbecoming, and of some concern... my dr did take a blood test to make sure there was no underlying problems.. but there was nothing awry with my blood!
Since starting zoloft my constant feeling of being freezing is gone and I seem to agree with everyone around me on the temperature, which never happened before. =P
But my latest concern, is night sweats. I am not "hot" at night.. yet I seem to wake up, and am literally able to wipe the moisture off my chest! I feel dewy and gross. I never had this before, except in the past two weeks or so. Why would it start now, when I have been on these meds for so many months? I have read it is a side effect of drugs like zoloft. I was wondering has anyone else experienced effects like mine??

Go see your doctor..maybe you need some lab work done.

I almost posted to you hours ago, but was concerned about alarming you. Now I just feel that I HAVE to say this. Night sweats can be caused by many things. Meds, included. You said that your Dr did labs and all was fine with your blood. Man, please just take what I'm going to say and talk to you Dr (or a different Dr) about it. My son had night sweats, and huge bruises. He also had leukemia. On the upside, he had a bone marrow transplant 5 years ago and he is cancer free. Please, don't be pissed at me for mentioning this, but it was the first thing that I thought of.
God Bless,
~Zoe~

Hello Zoeyoe..

Did your son ever also have heart palpitations or "the shakes"? My co-worker was telling me that she used to bruise very easily and her doctor had her tested for lukemia when she was my age (Im 20). Other than these things I feel fine.... I don't want to mention it to my doctor because I think he already thinks Im a hypocondriac! I would hope that if he were concerned about lukemia, he would say something to me! But I will have an appointment some time in this next week, and tell him about my bruisnig again. I hope I figure out what it is! Thank you for your concern, and I appreciate you telling me no matter how scary it might be!!

hmm.. I just realised... wouldn't it have shown up in a blood test if there was a problem? I have had 2 bloodtests, in the last year (once because I was cold all the time, and once because of the bruising). Can't they detect something like cancer?

Have you had weight loss? Perhaps you need a different Dr? I believe that you do if he/she has labeled you a hypochondriac. And yes my son had shakes and has a heart murmer......palpitations. But stress can cause a host of problems, also. Please let me know what you find out. You need a CBC lab, I think. I am not a doctor, just sharing what I know.
