Hi everyone. I've had a headache for the past 4 days (since Friday morning). I've tried Fioricet, since I first assumed it was a tension headache. Saturday night it progressed to a migraine, with all the sensity and nausea that goes along with it. I tried Maxalt. While the medicines I took didn't get rid of the headache, they stopped it from getting worse. Along with the medicine, I'm using heat on my neck and my head (I've got one of those headaches where it hurts behind my left eye).
I missed class today because my headache is still there, and not getting any better. I'm not sure what I should do, since the fioricet and maxalt didn't help too much. Can I go to an urgent care clinic, and if I do, will they be able to treat me? Or should I just take the next step and go to the ER? Will they give me a shot or pain killers? I'd make an appt with my regular dr, but i've only seen him once so far (he will be my regular dr, I should say) and I'm scared about making a bad impression (demanding pain relief). Also, I don't think I'll be able to get in to see him today, and I want to treat this ASAP so I don't miss anymore class.
I just want this headache to GO AWAY! Especially since I can't afford to miss class, or work.
Thanks in advance

Ask your doctor to recommend a Neurologist that specializes in migraines/headaches. Or you can check yourself. Most are found at Headache Clinics. Check your local Yellow Pages.
In the meantime, see if your doctor will prescribe Zomig nasal spray. It also comes in pill form.
Good Luck
