I have been having a pain behind my left leg for a few days now. It is above the knee area and below my hip. Other leg is fine. I can walk on it just fine, just a dull ache that is annoying. No swelling or redness that I can see. I have been worried about bloot clots lately and dont have insurance so havent been to get it checked out. From what i've read most people says it's an intense pain, swelling and redness. Well I ahve none of that, but I cant think of what i've done to cause this pain. Btw i'm a 28 yr male.

Hey there!
I am actually experiencing what you are right now and I wouldn't worry unless your foot starts to swell and/or the pain gets worse. I had DVT in my leg a couple of years ago now and my symptoms were basically what everyone says.... swelling - the inside of the foot especially, pain in the calf muscle (I thought I had 'strained' my muscle as I was on crutches at the time) and redness. Also, the area that has a bloodclot can be quite warm...if that helps!
If you experience the swelling go see a doctor asap!
I hope that helps you in some way... Goodluck!

Main questions you need to ask are; is the calf warm to touch, swollen, pain eases when reclining or legs elevated?
I've had plenty of clots, yet it still surprises me when I get a new one. I live in NZ so healthcare is free here sort of, but I am sure there must be some community funded healthcare where you are.
Good luck

when I was 18 Ihad a clot break loose and went to my lung. I had no warning signs one day i started having pain in my right side I went to the hospital and was told I had gas the next day I woke up and new I was not haveing gas pains so I went back to the hospital they found the clot but could not explain why i had it. they had not ever seen a case like mine. twenty years later a curious Dr ran test and found i had S protien def which is a protien missing in the blood only 1 in 50,000 people have it but 1 in 500 are believed to have C protien def. If you truly believe that you have a clot go see a doctor. DVT is just the first symptom of a big problem. the redness, thoubing, swelling, relief when your leg is elavated. sorry for the spelling but I had a stroke last year and im learning to type left handed, my inr was 3.2 so if thats any help good luck.
