View Full Version : A little confused...

For about a month and a half I've been suffering from pain in my lower left side, where the left kidney is. I have seen a doctor about it, and they have booked an appointment for an I.V.P., but it isn't until the end of May. Unfortunatly my doctor hasn't been able to clarify what may be wrong with me, because he is a specialised doctor and doesn't know much about the kidney. I'm just looking for a diagnosis... of sorts. I know I can't be sure until I get the test done but I was wondering if anyone had any idea what it may be.

I have only a couple symptoms, they are:

-Constant discomfort on the left side
-Occasional stabbing pains on left and right side
-Pains in my left leg and hip
-Fatigue

I haven't noticed anything else, and no co-relation with the pain and urination, or anything else for that matter. I've searched the internet and haven't found anything. I'm very confused and worried, and if I could have some kind of clarification that would help a lot.

Thanks.

Can your Dr. order a KUB before you have to have the IVP? That's a non-invasive abdominal xray that can show stones. That's how I was diagnosed with mine. It's been years since I've had to have an IVP. Hope you get some answers soon. Good luck.
