Are you male or female? What is the pattern of hair loss? If your female look to get tested for autoimmune diseases. I use 5% Rogaine. I am female and young. Health problems. 5% works 2% doesn't.

Steve, do not up your dosage. It is 1mg for a reason. I do have some advice that will be helpful.

I was on Propecia for a while, it takes a couple of months to work, what it does is cuts down on the DHT before it can get to your scalp and attack your hair folicals. I got off of it because I've noticed a decrease in my libedo.

Here is what I suggest. Read up on Saw Palmetto (herb) and hair loss. I've read many websites and to be strait forward, it works very similarly to Propecia but it has slim to no side effects. If you find that using Propecia and Saw Palmetto helps your hair loss.. ween yourself off of Propecia, it's too expensive and it's not good for your body. Take vitamins and take care of yourself. Zinc and B-vitamins are crucial for hair care. Not having enough zinc in your diet may be a key reason your hair is falling out. Now don't go overboard on Zinc supplements. I wouldn't go over 30 mg a day. Too much zinc isn't good for you, but 30 mg is fine.

You seem very stressed. I believe that stress is just about as bad as anything for hair loss. I'm 19, I've had the same problem, right now I've been not worrying about it, taking vitamins and supplements, and keeping my hair clean. I've noticed only 4 or 5 hairs to fall out when I'm washing it in the shower (which is pretty good) and even new hairs coming back. Massage your scalp for a good 10 minutes once you get out of the shower, it will increase circulations. These are all natural remedies, don't always think you have to jump onto using drugs for this problem. Always remember, that hair loss bothers you more than it bothers anybody else, if you think that the world is looking at your hair all of the time, you are wrong. I'm very self conscious as well, I know how it feels. Good luck
