View Full Version : Poor Circulation or Something Else?

I have been fixating on the fact that I could feel my heart beat even though it was only between 60-78 beats per minute and was fixating on my weight gain/loss. All this fixating of course causes anxiety and who knows what impact that is having on me, but it can't be good for this constant worrier.

Other things I have noticed/symptoms are...

the blue veins in my palms and forearm that seems to go away when my hands warm up

tingling sensation and itchy skin in certain parts of my body especially feet and legs

hard to describe, but something similar to a dizziness, lighheadedness, brain fog, etc.

cold hands and feet but it is winter of course here in the Mid-Atlantic

tendreness in calf, not pain but tender to the touch

mild muscle fatigue but nothing that stops me from exercising

some of this is worse in the morning when I first get up and then subsides as the day goes

Any advice on circulation help or clues on this stuff would be helpful. Like I said, my heart rate is pretty good and I have no issue with exercising vigorously so not sure what my possible circulation issue is due too. Just wondering if it is a circulation problem or maybe just a combination of things.

It sounds like from reading your posts that whatever your Doctor tells you is probably your best advice.
I can only share with you my own thoughts, which are not very medically oriented:
Your lack of circulation in the morning could be from either a sleeping habit or disorder; although, my Father complained of the same symptoms for way over 20 years and only lived to be 92. He said he found relief by wearing socks, long-johns, and long-sleeved tee-shirt every night, and drinking milk and eating lots of green veggies (as he called them) for his leg cramps.
I think that feeling your own heartbeat is relatively common. I have been able to hear my heartbeat since I was a small child. At the Doctor’s office when I was little I would tell the nurse that she didn't have to take my pulse, I could just tell her.

Honestly, I feel that whether our Doctors have diagnosed us with a serious heart condition or not; if we spend our days thinking about others, and keep ourselves as busy as possible helping others, we wouldn't dwell so much on whether we can feel our own heartbeat or not.
It's kind-a like growing a garden in a desert place. The plants that get the most water become the strongest. When we are always thinking of ourselves and dwelling on the problems within our own body, just like a weed, those negative thoughts are going to keep multiplying and growing in our mind. But, when we set our heart on thinking of others and how we might help them, those thoughts will grow, too. So, the more love and consideration that we give to others the more beautiful fruit that we will have. And that in turn will bring joy and health to our lives, instead of the choking weeds of worrying.
Hang in there, and God bless,
enie

Yeah I think this sounds like overly worrying to me ..anxiety....I have generalized anxiety disorder so I understand you will be alright I get cold hands and feet alot some nights I have to get out my real thick socks so I can warm my feet and get to sleep and my hands stay cold all day sometimes it doesnt always mean poor circulation.
