I posted it this on another board but didnt get any help.. I had a CT scan done awhile ago for my gallbladder and stuff well i just got my report and it says that There is Hypertrophy of the bowel wall muscle in the sigmoid and a few diverticula of the sigmoik and descending colon..Does anyone know what that means..They never told me about this so i am assuming that it is no big deal..If anyone could help that would be great..

Hypertrophy refers to the size of an organ or structure of the body.
Not because there is a tumor, but because of growth in the actual size. An example is where the heart increases in size as a result of valve problems.

Diverticula are small sac or pouch like structures in the wall of the bowel. If they become inflamed it can cause problems but only a small # do...

Diagnosis is better left for the doctor's office!
