View Full Version : I'm Going CRAZY With this Nose DRIP!!!

I am 49 yrs old and this is the first ever time I've had this problem. For the past 3 months I've had this drip of clear watery fluid from ONLY MY LEFT NOSTRIL....and it's driving me nuts. There are no other symptoms, no facial pain, no headache, no cough, nothing. As a matter of fact if it weren't for this drip I would be 100% ME. I find if I sit still like at the computer or watching TV, the drip slows down. But the minute I start moving around like cleaning house or working in the yard or at work, it is nonstop. Why is that??
There is no mucus, so when I blow my nose to try to clear it, nothing comes out. But in the very next minute, this drop of clear fluid is again coming out of my nose so I have to wipe/blot it again. It almost feels like the discharge is forming at the very tip of my nose. I know this because if I wad up a piece of tissue paper and put it in my nostril....after a couple of minutes I feel it getting full with moisture and I pull it out only to see the portion of tissue that was at the outermost part of my nose is moist, the part that was further in my nostril is dry.
I'm not sure if this is an allergy or what. I've been to my doctor and taken rhinocort spray, zyrtec, augmentin, benadryl. I've tried nasal saline sprays and over the counter "sinus" products, all with no improvement at all. ANY ideas would be greatly appreciated as I'm at my wits end. I will also post this to the ENT board for help. Thanks.

sorry that you are having this problem! I wish I had a better answer for you but really I'm just offering support. I would definitely see the doctor again and maybe an allergist to get tested for allergies. Allergies can develope at any time so it's very possible that it is an allergy. My first reaction to reading this was to take some antihistimine but it sounds like you have already done this with the zrytec & benedryl. Good luck! I hope it clears up soon!!
