Hi everyone. Im new here. Ive been reading this message board for awhile and I've learned alot. I've been debating on trying Wellbutrin and I was just wondering if buproprion is the same thing(generic). I searched on the internet and it seems to be the same thing but all the searches are talking about using buproprion to quit smoking and they dont mention depression. Are any of you taking buproprion? If so what dosage are you on? How are you feeling on it?

Thanks

Tyler

Yes Tyler- buproprion is the same thing as Wellbutrin. Zyban the drug for smokers also has buproprion it also. Go to Wellbutrin's website and you will learn that it is used to treat depression. I guess it works good for a lot of people but I had a hellish experience with it. I started out on 150mg for three days as suggested and then went up to 300mg. I went totally insane with adverse reactions. I think it was too high of a dose for me or something. I wish I would have started out at 75 or 100. Your body might be able to handle it though- everyone is different. Just thought I'd let you know. Take care.

I took Buproprion as well, on 150mgs, then 300mgs per day. I lost my job, and I take samples of regular Wellbutrin and it's exactly the same...no response really. I don't really respond to any anti-depressants for some reason.
