As I look through the posts, I see that some people don't get responses to their polls. Simply enough we are on the depression board right? So why not help others in need too? It seems like everyone on this board is really supportive I love that. Some of these people really really need responses, so why not try to help or say a quick hello even if you don't know what there talking about ?

Love,

Sounds good to me. I get a lift out of reading and responding to posts. It feels good to be in touch with others. It also lets others know that they are not alone. Not to mention that I don't get interrupted when I'm talking. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I try to bear in mind that since the folks that are posting here are suffering from depression they may very well find it difficult to respond.

I second what ardor said...

I try to respond to posts that I can relate to... some days it's just hard to respond to someone else's post when you're already down.

Personally, I always can feel empathetic, but there are days that I just don't feel like commiserating... I get that enough with my mother.

That being said, I think that this is a great board and it has helped me on numerous occasions. Everyone here is the greatest! Lots of love!!

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way they handle these 3 things: a rainy day, lost luggage and tangled Christmas tree lights.

In the past, I have looked for any "0" response posts that I could contribute to. However, many of these posters want answers to specific questions, like, "Should I take Wellbutrin?" I think people have to understand that there are some questions that aren't really suited to be responded to by laypeople on an internet support group. Also, there are some questions that are repeated many times, and if the poster scrolled back through previous posts (maybe not even on the previous page in the group), they could see that their concern has already been addressed.

That aside, yes, let's seek out those 0 response posts and see if we can help somebody out today!

I think it would also be helpful if posters could be as specific as possible in their post headings, instead of "help me," "please help." You *have* to pull up those posts to see what they are about, only to find out it's nothing you can contribute to. I feel bad for the posts that have been viewed like 80 times w/no one replying, but it's the only way to see if it's on a subject you can help with.
