I have done some reading on red rice yeast and am finding that it may have the same side effects as statins which I CANNOT take. So, I'm curious to hear what experiences people here have had with it. Had kidney problems on statins before, so wish to be very careful taking anything else. HELP!!

I had muscle pain with statins so severe I had to stop them after a few weeks. I got the same exact results with half the recommended dose of RYR.

If I'm correct, RRy is a natural statin, so be careful seeing U had problems with statins in the past.

Red Yeast Rice contains lovastatin the same as Mev@cor. Dosage is variable since there is no requirement to standardize supplements so I imagine the effect might depend a lot on the brand you are buying.
