I am about to start talking clomid combined with IUI. I've been reading on this board about all the side effects.

My question is what is the average weight gain per cycle on clomid? is it mostly water weight?

Also, if clomid thins the uterine lining, wouldn't that make it harder to get pregnant?

Any info would be greatly appreciated?

I haven't done Clomid, but my fertility drugs make my tummy get really swollen and bloated, but it goes back to normal size when I am off, so it must be water weight. Nothing that cannot be fixed pretty fast

The weight that I gained was not water weight. I can't tell you how much I gained in one cycle, probably because it wasn't extremely noticeable, but over the 3 cycles of Clomid, I gained about 7-10 pounds. Could be from stress, but I have heard of others that have gained some from the Clomid, as well. I have not gained any more since being off, but haven't lost it, either.

The uterine wall lining is one of the bad side effects of the Clomid. It usually happens over time and is one of the major reasons you should not be on Clomid for more than 3 cycles. Mine went down each time, but was still 9 or 10 by the last cycle that I took it, which is very good. When I did my cycle with Repronex, it was way back up to a 12+, so it does come back.
