I felt great on paxil but gained over 40 lbs. Then I weaned myself off of it, exercised 5 x/week, eating mostly fruits, veggies, lean meats and taking vit e,c,b's,fish oil. Avoiding sugar, flours and processed foods...Anyway lost 47 lbs and back in size 5-7's....and don't want to gain it back.

I just started Lexapro and wondering if anyone had better luck with not gaining weight when switched from paxil to Lexapro.

Thanks.

I gained on Paxil. I lost a little on Prozac. And now I am on Lexapro also. So far no weight change. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I refuse to stay on a med that makes me gain weight. That depresses me. http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/frown.gif

Hope Lex works for you!

I've had a couple people email me back and say they gained on paxil but not on lexapro so far...I refuse to buy bigger pants than 8 and if those start getting tight...I am gonna wonder if it's the SSRI

I have been on lexapro for 4 weeks and have had no weight gain what so ever. However, I have always had a very fast metabolism.
