You know I have not used merderma but I have used Scar zone which may be the same type of thing. I was not that impressed. You know what I had a fairly large acne scar under my lip and I used vitamin E oil and that worked great. I just put it on at night and went to bed after a few weeks the scar was much lighter.
Cant hurt to try the merderama!! If it does not work you said you can get you money back.

I have used merderma. It is very thin based lubricant gel. Not what I expected. It also dries to a rather hard film. So if you move you mouth to talk or anything of the sort it will crack. I did not like it. It is rather on the pricey side and did not work for me.
You will not find it on the shelf either.
You will most likely have to ask a Pharmacist to get it for you. I purchased mine at Walmart but it was not kept on the shelf. I do believe it was a little over $14.

hi there, I have used Merderma for a bad surgical scar. It did help, but did not eliminate the scar completely....could be my fault because I never really used it regularly as instructed which is necessary for results. If I recall correctly the directions were something like twice a day for several months, like 5-6 months I think...its been quite a while since I used it so not sure on directions. Anyway, I was working at the time and for some reason I just couldn't be discliplined about the applications so it was real hit/miss applications. But, even with applications like that I still got results....it lightened the scar and the scar tissue is not as raised as it was. I would definitely do it again. It is pricey and there may be less expensive copykat type products on the market now. I think the Dr. Palmer line at Walmart has a scar product, and I have really liked a lot things in that line which is a very reasonable skincare line.

I tried it, but it really didn't do anything. I have a really bad scar from my belly button ring. It pushed out. Don't waste your money on it. Go to your doctor & ask him to give you samples of retin-a micro gel. )It's pricey, that why I got samples) I had a mole removed in Dec., it worked great. It evened my skin out around the scar. The scar isn't gone yet, but I am sure it will be. It takes time. BTW, retin-a micro gel for acne, but my Derm gave it to me for the scar.

I tried using mederma for acne scars on my face and I think I was allergic to it! I wasted $37 on it and should have returned it if I knew I could have. It made my face really red! I didn't care for the smell, it has onion or garlic in it (I forget which), and I could really smell it too! My acne scars ended up fading on their own COMPLETELY within a year (there aren't even any pits anymore.. when I had them it was enough for my brother to say I had a "crater" on my forehead!).
I would probably try another scar treatment. Anybody tried those bandaid things from the drugstores that reduce scars?
