Hello Fibro Family,
It's been a long time since I was here...so long in fact I don't even remember my old user name. After I had my second baby life became CRAZY! :bouncing:
I wanted to wish TK, BlueLakeLady, Papa Roux and Apriltones a hearty hello. Thank you for keeping "the list" and all the other helpful info going. I think TK is going to be ready to publish in a medical journal soon.
I am 37, have two tots, disabled SAHM with fibro, lupus (inactive) and newly diagnosed with neuropathy. It took changing doctors and a bunch of tests to get the neuropathy diagnosed but it was worth it.
Since starting neurontin and mirapex (also used to treat fibro pain) my quality of life has improved dramatically. When I had the epidural with my first son four years ago I had a numb leg for six months and felt like I had nerve damage. My current PCP blamed it all on fibro and refused to consider anything else.
Since switching doctors and getting the neuropathy diagnosis much of my muscle cramping, burning and wierd shooting pains have subsided and much of my brain fog has gone away. I can finally read a book again without having to re-read every sentence twice.
So if you have those wierd shootings pains etc., especially in the groin, hip, legs go read the neuropathy board to see if it's worth checking out with your doc. I still have all my other health issues but am on the mend for the first time in a long time.
I've been able to do more in the last six months than I did the previous three years as far as cooking, housework and well "living". I actually wear makeup a few times a week now and take care of my family more.
It's good to be back and I am so greatful for all the love and support this board provided way back when.
Pain Free Day to You!
