I masturbate nearly every day and about 3 weeks ago I started to get red marks around the shaft of my penis and on the head.
I'm not sure what this is, have I torn the skin or something?
And could anyone suggest how to get rid of it.

Wait a few days. That will likely make it go away. The penis is a pretty resiliant thing.

It may be mild trauma from vigerous or too frequent masturbation or not using enough lubrication. I agree - lay off for a few days to let things heal.

Masturbation is a bit different if you are circumcised as you may not have as much "sleeve" skin to move up and down the penis - so a different technique and maybe some lube is required.

If you have an intact foreskin then generally lube is not required but does make it nicer. The foreskin will protect the sensitive head of the penis from the roughness of clothes for example.

But generally if you are circumcised then it cannot be undone, so if this is the case it doesnt matter.

If you are intact then you still have the choice in the future if you want to be circumcised for a valid medical reason but if you dont have a problem there then dont bother and dont worry about it.

If you saying that these red marks are also on your foreskin then follow the earlier advice and let up masturbating for a few days to allow it all to recover.

Also maybe you want to find a technique for masturbation that does not grip so tightly or is not so hard on the penis!

No, not really. Although it's possible for circumcised guys to have a bit of chaffing, guys with foreskins have their own problems with tearing of the foreskin or frenulum during masturbation.

Are you just using your hand? If so you shouldn't be getting any marks unless you are too rough or are are doing it several times a day.

I'm probably doing it too rough,

I'm getting quite worried, as you said, they should go in a few days, and it has almost been a week and the marks do not seem to be going away at all.
