I know a lot of you have been to the doctor and ER and they've done blood work, but have you ever been checked for Vitamins and Minerals? I was reading about Zinc the other day, and found that low levels of it can cause many types of anxiety-type symtoms (along with others). I have also read that Vitamin and mineral deficiencies can cause a lot of weird stuff. I am going to the doctors in a few days and plan on getting that done, because I have almost every symtom of a zinc deficiency. I'll write back when I get the answer. Anyone had those tests?

I think women need more Iron then Zinc.
But get tested.
Tell me what they say.

That's why I go to a Naturopath rather then a doctor. I've been taking minerals and vitamins ever since I got sick last year, and they enabled me to be able to get out of bed and go almost to my normal life again.

If you can, I defiently recommend taking some vitamins. They make me feel fantastic when I should be feeling like crap! :)

Hi all: Well, I got my blood test results back and they all were perfect. I was a little dissapointed and happy at the same time! ;-) They did test me for Zinc, and the doctor told me that it had never been requested before and they had never done it before, so it is not a common thing they test you for. Although, it came out in normal ranges, I have been eating a lot of zinc rich foods for about 3 weeks now, and I have noticed some improvements, so I'll never know for sure if it could have been low before. So, if they don't test for Zinc, they probably don't test for other stuff that someone may be deficient in. Who knows, but it's probably a good thing to ask about when you do get your blood tested. Get a copy of the results so you can see what all is tested for.
