Hey Everyone! Its been a few weeks since my last post and here's the latest on the me. Been diagnosed with PCOS, placed on Clomid (50 mg),Provera (the induce AF), Metformin (Insulin), Decadron (lower male horm.), and have gone through two ultrasounds. The doctor is concrened with the last of my blood work, turns out I have antibodies for chlamydia and the worst thing about it is that I always used condoms and always agreed to be tested for it when I got my Paps done. From what the doctor explained is that chlamydia can be unactive in your body and will not be detected by just getting a Pap. I am sooo freakin' out cause I read up on how it can scar your reproductive organs, and as you can tell I have enough issues in that department without being diagnosed with this s***. Now, because of this I am scheduled for an x-ray of my fallopian tubes (sp?) to make sure that I don't need to go through invetro (sp?). Has anyone had this test before? I'm not to sure what it is call, its like H-something.

Hi there!

Its called an HSG (hysterosalpingiogram or something similar!) - it's where they squirt dye up your tubes and take x-rays to see whether the dye can pass through your fallopian tubes ok. I had one done a couple of weeks ago - it is a little uncomfortable (take some paracetamol or similar before hand) but very quick and it ist cool to see the xrays and see the dye flowing through the tubes.

Don't worry about it (easy to say I know, I was very scared before mine!) - it sounds a lot worse than it actually was.

Good luck - let us know how you get on. Btw there are a few posts here about it if you do a search you should find out more info.

Thx for the reply. I just got back from the doctor and let me just say the HSG was not the most pleasant experience, however the results were good. My fallopian tubes are open and are functioning normally. The doctor is continuing the Provera, Clomid, Metformin, and Decadron and he feels confident that we will be pregnant in the next few months. Its a relief to finally hear some good news. :D

Congrats :bouncing: that is great news! No, an HSG is not the most dignified thing in the world, but now you have that extra information, you can feel much more positive about ttc!
