Hello- I am about to start my 7th week on Zoloft. Diagnosed with GAD/panic attacks. 3 weeks 50mg, 2 weeks 100mg and 1 week of 125mg. Although, I feel that my anxious thoughts have gone away for the most part (ie. the need to go the ER every minute or call my doc) I am still getting some pain. It's a traveling pain....Primarily in my left arm but it sometimes makes it's way to my neck, back or right arm or occasional chest pain on left side. The pain seems to be pretty constant. Can anyone relate? Thanks!

I have the same symptoms and then some have for months now so your not alone and I do believe it is possible to stem from anxiety I am having a stress plus echo test this week if that comes out normal I will probably back on meds for anxiety too if you have been checked out good then try not to worry anxiety can make symptoms that seem so hard to believe are nothing harmful but they really are not harmful they just mimic other things that scare us....try not to worry and whatever ya do do not search the web by your symptoms you will come up with so many possibilities and prob a few that will just scare you more. Also the meds do not always take all anxiety away some may and some may not and for some people nothing takes it completely away if you dont see a thrapist yet try that to learn coping skills

take care

Thanks Tnmom- I have been for a stress test and an echo test which came back fine. Thank God! I truly WANT to believe that it is anxiety and for the most part I do but when I get a really bad chest pain, heart palp I start to panic. Of course the pain in my arm, neck and back doesn't help matters. The severity of the pain has definitely decreased since starting the meds. I'm just hoping with a certain dosage/different med. it will go away in its entirety. I guess I have to continue "exploring!"

i'm exactly like you. word for word.. i have the pains down my left arm, chest, upper left shoulder.. i also have heart palps. which worries me.. sometimes i get a hard heart beat that hurts, i get that twinge in my chest with it.. i have had all those tests too, echo, ekg, stress test, holter. etc. i am on the phone with my doc all the time. i took paxil for a few years and it did take all that away for the most part, but since coming off in october, i've been suffereing again. so, now i'm trying celexa. i'm on day 6. no side effects so far, so thats good. i just hope it takes away all the worry.. i also feel likei cant breathe right.. not that i cant get a breath, but like the breath is going to be sucked out of me, kind of little gasps.. i dont know, its weird.. i wake up sometimes at night thinking i'm gonna stop breathing and i freak..

Thanks for your response. I am getting to the point where I am starting to feel helpless. I am trying so hard to beat this "thing." I see a psychologist once a week, I have been for all the tests, I take the medicine and yet the physical symptoms are there...and they are scary. I guess I thought once I started taking the meds and they upped me to 125mg I would get relief from all of  this. :( Sorry to vent....just having one of those days, wondering if I will ever be myself again.
