Gee your hair smells terrific!
That's whatI have been using recently and it really does make your hair smell great and I was surprised how nice it made my hair.
if you have thick heavy hair I know some girls use that horse shampoo. I forget the name, but it's fairly inexpensive and it makes your hair hang nice.

I love Garnier Fructis and it smells great! I use the Sleek N Shine one, but if your hair is greasy you may want to get the regular one. It's great and inexpensive!

if you have an oily scalp, stick to clear shampoos. doesnt matter what color it is, but if you can see through it, its good to clean an oily scalp.
do not use opaque, creamy shampoos. they are usually very moisturizing and will only make an oily scalp worse.

I love pantene and they have so many different kinds to choose from so you can really tailor it to the type of hair you have...plus it has such a clean smell to it.

pantene is a creamy shampoo, not good for an oily scalp. actually, pantene is filled with silicone which is very coating and damaging, not good for hair of any type.
right now i'm using vo5 shampoos, only the clear ones. my favorites are the raspberry and the apple.

So far the best shampoo I have found for that type of hair *mine included* is an Awapuhi shampoo. I buy Paul Mitchell's but Suave makes a cheaper version of it. It does a fabulous job.

Pantene's clarifying shampoo (clear bottle one) does wonders when it comes to cleaning. The only thing I find is that it does too good of a job cleaning out all the oil or crap in your hair that I need a really good conditioner to soften it up. I am not kidding too when I say it does a good job cleaning your hair, I can hear my hair squeak if I wash my hair with this pantene shampoo before conditioning it. I would suggest you use the Pantene clarifying shampoo and a good conditioner if you want a shampoo that'll clean your hair really well.

a clarifying shampoo is good to use to clean oil and product buildup. but if you use a clarifying shampoo, its best to use it ONLY ONCE A WEEK. clarifying shampoos are meant to strip the hair and scalp, so they can be extremely harsh on your skin if used every day.

What ever you do, just make sure you don't drop a lot of cash on Shampoo. They all have the same 4 main ingredients in them. Stick with cheap, inexpensive shampoo. Kiesha

Do you have a Sally Beauty Supply near you? I saw a user mention the Awapuhi shapmpoo from Paul Mitchell. Great stuff. But I've tried the generic version at Sally and it works just as good. I agree with the posters about the shampoo being clear. Never use white colored shampoo. That is for moisturizing.
If Sally is not an option. Try the Neutrogena Clean Replensing line. It is sold at just about every drugstore. Don't buy anything that says moisturizing (will make more oily) or anything that has the word clarifying (will strip your hair and over time cause flakes).
Good luck.

If you were a blondie, I would recommend the Redken Blonde Glam shampoo, which I really like, but since you're not...hmmm...I tried the Garnier shampoo for normal hair, and it's quite good for the price. Pantene is terrible, don't use it. What else: the John Frieda shampoos for various hair colors are not bad. Also, one product I really love is the Dove foam conditioner in a can--it does not weigh hair down at all and helps to detangle it easily. My favorite conditioner ever!

There is a big debate over silicone in shampoo and conditioner. They say you should go cone-free for a week to determine whether your hair likes it or not. Also, the damage is caused by accumulation of silicone, and can be prevented with weekly clarifying. I just put baking soda in my shampoo once a week or so. My hair likes silicone. I have it in my conditioner, and it makes my fine frizzy hair soft and smooth. Some people have claimed that they used silicone products for years (without clarifying) and when they finally used a clarifying treatment, all their hair broke off. This is because the silicone was filling damage in the cuticle and when washed away, the hair was very weak. Once again, can be prevented by regularly clarifying the hair. I use my kid's shampoo (Sauve fruity stuff) followed by a smoothing conditioner. I tend not to stick to one brand, and switch around alot. They all work about the same for me.

Shampoos with tea tree oil is supposed to help with oily hair and scalp, Ive tried it before and it gives your scalp a menthol feeling for a while, but my mom isnt an everyday hair washer so the salons told her to use those kinds of shampoos. Its natural too

Yeah, I did a search for silicone in pantene expecting to find all these stylists criticizing it, but found totally the oposite. And there are many lines with silicone.
