Hey everyone.......My name is Samantha and I have been living with anxiety for almost 8 years and I am only 23. I am scared to death of being alone. I always think that something bad is going to happen and nobody will be there to help me. I have been on every med in the book. Now I am on Paxcil cr and I still feel like crap. I just want advice or some feed back on how to cope with my life. I am losing all hope in the years to come and I just wanna know if there is anyone like me who I can talk too. Thanks for reading........

I definitely know how you feel. I am scared of being alone too. I really don't like being by myself. I'm also worried I'll be alone and something bad will happen and no one will be around to know or help me. It's really scary. The only things I can think of to mention are typical stuff like distracting yourself somehow. A hot bath, a good book, a movie, music, etc. Of course if you are in a really huge state of panic none of that stuff seems to help. Ugh. I wish I had more answers for you.

Hi hun,
When my anxiety was at a real bad point i was like that too, to scared to do anything except sit on my bed being scared.
I started to write lists of stuff that i needed to do so when i was alone i already knew what i was doing, after a month or so of running myself off my feet in the house coz i wouldnt go out, i started to appreciate my time alone, i managed to relax in the bath and settle with the t.v, even now if i spend 3 days indoors i start climbing the walls, i appreciate the trip to the school that i used to be so scared of.
Have you tried any therapy, i am 25 and have had anxiety for about 7 years now, although i only really recognised it a few years ago. I have tried meds, but found cbt therapy a great help.
Hope you feel better soon ;)

often getting a dog or a cat helps a lot for anxiety sufferers who get worse when alone

in extreme cases, the partner may quit work to stay home with the sufferer, causing financial problems if they panic when alone

Sammie for me what helped the most was accepting my illness. Thats the biggest part of it .. If something was going to happen to you it would of happened to you by now don't you think? Learning about anxiety and accepting it makes it so much easier to deal with. Self help book are definatly a good thing to get. I reccomend the Anxiety and Phobia workbook by edmund borne. I read that and found it very helpful but there are many many books out there on anxiety. You are not going to die. And if you do so what. Don't waste your time worrying about it live.. Live happily. Just be. Be proud of the little accomplishments you do.. Reward yourself. Relax. Excersice. ( Im still working on that one.LOL) We are all here for you. You know what they say.. What dosen't kill you makes you stronger. Well we all must be the strongest people for dealing with the anxietys that we have. Find a positive in all of this and you will over come it.. Ignore your symthoms and find busy work for your mind and you will see that they diminish over time. Don't ever give up!!
