The aspirin mask. Dissolve several cheap, plain, uncoated, store-brand aspirin in a little water. Then use as a scrub, or apply like a masque and let dry, rinse off, or apply let dry, wipe away excess and leave on residue over night. It's a miracle for blackheads. It's salycilic acid.

I usually use it as a scrub in the shower, but you'll get more dramatic results when you leave it on. It doesn't stick once dry though and the powder will make you sneeze. Supposedly some people mix it with a little moisturizer or soap to help it stick after it dries.

I tried the Biore strips before and yea... the first time I could see the blackheads but then I could never see them again. It also really irritated my skin and I got red all over and it was really bad. My nose is pretty sensative and even if something hard bumped up against it there would be immediate redness. But what really worked on me was the Clean and Clear Blackhead Clearing Scrub... I got no more redness and I could hardly at all see the blackheads( mine were really bad.) I am have been and now super confident! :p

you have to leave the strip on long enough for it to dry and get a little tight, THEN pull it off.

I've tried Biore and Ponds strips before. They definitely didn't work at all..for me at least. I followed the directions and everything. They just don't seem to work for certain people I guess. It basically hurt a lot when I tried to pull it off, and kinda felt like I was ripping my skin off- not pleasant.

I haven't tried that aspirin mask yet, but I'm definitely trying it later today... although I don't seem to have many blackheads anymore...mainly because I wash my face more often now than I used it, and I also use facial cremes from Europe. I'm not sure what kind they are (I got a jar from my mom)... I think it might be German (not sure), but it works wonders on my skin...makes it really soft and looks fresh, almost "moist."
I've also used Nivea lotion on my face before applying make up and I think it works really well on keeping the moisture in.

Tweezerman makes an extraction tool. Take a nice steamy shower, then go to town with the tool. All kinds of goop comes out.

What exactly do you do with the extraction tool? Does it dig them out or pull them out? I don't know if picking them out would really be good for you face?

Sally Hansen has some kind of black head treatment that comes with a little brush with pointy rubber bristles. I bought it but never tried is since the aspirin mask has worked so well for me.

Let us know how it worked for you--I'm very interested in trying the aspirin mask. Some people apparently mix it with a clay mask like Queen Helene's Mint Julep mask to make it stick better and leave it on for 10 or 15 minutes, than splash with water to remove it. I might try this method some time this week.

Well last night was the 4th time I used the asprin mask. I missed one day because I was up late and didnt' want to sit and wait for it to dry lol Last night I left more powder on my nose, where the blackheads are. Today I notice a big difference. They are still there, But I think after a few more times they will be totally gone. I also notice that the redness on my cheeks is no longer there after I was my face.. or at least not that bad.

I think it might take a long time for any deep ones. Because I noticed a huge difference the first time I tried it. I thought it was a miracle and at that rate they would all be gone with a few uses, but I still have some stubborn ones.

Blackhead tools are simple wire loops or holes that press down evenly on all sides around the blackhead which then just pops out. There is no picking, digging or pulling.

A lot of people make it way more complicated than it is. I think it must take some effort to mix it into the clay mask. I know a lot of people also grind up the tablets before adding water. None of that is necessary. If you are just doing your face, you can do prepare in the palm of your hand.

Just put some tablets in the palm of your hand, add some water and wait. I don't know, 20 seconds maybe? They will start dissolving and you can help by mashing with your finger. Then use as a scrub or apply as a mask. I sometimes mix it with my cleanser which helps it stick, then rinse it off and wash my face at the same time.

I tried the aspirin mask today after my shower, I just disolved it and then put it on when it was wet so it was kinda slushy, then when it dried the large crumbs started to fall off but I noticed that the gunk was more to the top cause I could see it better, I dont know if I have blackheads or just really large clogged pores, but anyways then I just took my toner and cotton pad and tried to slough it off, I guess it probably does take a few times, I will try leaving the residue over night and let yall know how it compares to the first technique.

Kind of a silly question and maybe it doesn't matter, but do you wash your face before you do the mask (if you choose to use it as a mask rather than a scrub) or after? I have very oily skin and am prone to break outs even in my 40s and am thinking this may be great for me!

I do it in the morning while in the shower... I wash my face at night. HTH
