Hello
I'm new and have suffered from anxiety for a few years, alongside an eating disorder and depression. :( The eating disorder and depression are now under control thanks to medication but I still suffer from severe anxiety.
I am getting married in a few weeks and am going away and I know that I will be panicing about every little thing - to leaving my cats, to am I spending too much money etc??
The doctor has prescribed me some valium and beta blockers for whilst I am away but does anyone else have any other advice on how to help me??

burn lavander inscents, take a warm long bubble bath, and reassure yourself that everythng will work out perfectly, you planned well, and nothing will go wrong, and you have your fiance to help you deal with anything that could possibley happen and probably wont :) you could start takeing tai chi, or just do that every day, really just anything you think will calm your nerves

I understand completely how worked up you can get about every little detail, especially for a wedding. I consider myself a perfectionist and perhaps that is where my anxiety stems from. Just remember, do not get so worked up in worrying about things going wrong or making sure everything is just perfect, because the day goes by so quickly you do not want to regret not enjoying it.
Try to take a deep breath, delegate any last minute details to trustworthy friends and family. Make a list of things you are worried about and make sure they are taken care of. If you see them in writing, hopefully you will be able to let them go once they are.
Enjoy the day. You (hopefully) will only have this happen once in your life. Focus on your love and your commitment to each other and let everything else just happen. Good luck!

welcome annie
the meds will help a lot if a large enough dose is taken, discuss with doc
if you are on an antidepressant med for the depression you might try a swap to another as these meds often also reduce anxiety a lot also

Thanks for all your replies - I think my main worry is about my cats - I worry that something is going to happen to them whilst I am away and that I won't be there to make them better - one of my cats is quite ill anyway and so this is not helpings things.
I trust my neighbours and know they will do their best - but if something happened and I wasn't here I would never forgive myself...
