It is a lignan found in sesame oil. I think they were trying to convey that it worked like a super fish oil in the body.

that vein of advertising has caused a lot of confusion, which is unfortunate because both sesamin and fish oil are great supplements. Especially together.

I dont think that this product has any advantage over Flax Seed Oil except perhaps it may be a slightly better anti-inflammatory. Certainly FSO will have more Lignans and better cholesterol lowering ability and it has been known to help lose weight. One things for sure with Sesamin your wallet will be a lot lighter!.... :D

having used both and knowing many others as well can tell you there is no comparision between the two. Flax lignans do not have any ppar-alpha effects, sesamin and episesamin are potent ppar-alpha agonists.

as far as weight loss and reducing adipose tissue gain sesamin/episesamin blows flax lignan away. In fact flax lignan may actually increase fat gain because of its oestrogenic activity.
