i was just wondering whether or not anxiety can cause you to feel flushed, even though you dont really look like it. my left arm, upper legs and face sometimes feel a bit hot though i dont have a fever or anything. ive had anxiety for a little while, but just started feeling this way, and was wondering if it was normal to feel like this with anxiety. and if so, how do u stop this, besides calming down?

YEP its anxiety. Beleive me I get this a lot at work while im sitting there my face feels like its burning up. I was checking my tempature and what do you know I never ever had a fever. As for making it go away. The best thing to do is ignore it. Thats what works for me. As soon as I forget about me being hot.. IT goes away. Get your mind busy doing something else and you will notice it starts to fade..

thanks dubgirl... this happened to me last night too and i started to panic like crazy. i have a messed up lymph node on the back of my head, so thats heightening my fear of things, but i realized after i dont think about it, the heat sensation goes away. as for the lymph node, well that's still scaring me, even though i think it may just be part of my skull and maybe a little swollen from me messing with it, since it does hurt. but thanks for the advice.

This has never happened to me until RIGHT before I read this post. My left arm started feeling really warm and then it started aching/throbbing...hence, full freak out mode. Isn't it just lovely? I'm sorry, I am getting really bitter about these things. It's just so unfair that we have to feel this way.

hey cloverdaze,
i agree it really does suck that we have to feel like this, but hopefully its something that we can all overcome. me personally, i think my anxiety is caused by health issues, even though im only 20. im just afraid that everything bad is going to happen to me. for example, ive had this lymph node swollen in my neck for years now, got it checked, doc said it felt normal, so i felt better. but then i found one on the back of my head, and freaked out too. im almost afraid to go back to the doctor in fear of what he might say (im almost convinced its cancer, though i always fear the worst). so all of this stuff has brought back my anxiety and is making everything worse. the new body heat thing seems to be the newest symtom that has me freaked out. hopefully i can get up the courage to go to the doctor soon to get this checked out and, (cross your fingers) turn out everything fine. but then again, i worry that it wont be, and that triggers everything all over again.
