I started a new (stronger) BC Pill recently, and I think my anxiety has gotten about ten times worse since I started it. Maybe it's just a coincidence.... has anyone heard of this ??

Thanks for your input! :)

I have to say I was on bc for almost 5 years now. THe first time i started to come off of it was when the panic attacks began. Weird. I never put that together until now. Anyways. I guess it could cause anxiety since it is putting hormones into your body which can make you worse. Ask your doc about it though.

yess yes yes yes. definitely a possibility.
i was on a BC pill for 2 years and recently came off of it because my psych thought it could be making my anxiety and depression worse. i came off of it and i feel even worse now, but BC has a lot to do with brain chemistry - it's a hormone pill!
talk to your doctor about this, they can find you a different pill that won't make you feel so crappy.

Thanks so much!! I had a feeling that was the problem, but really wanted some expertise on the issue. I've already called my doctor, and I am going back on my old, lower dose pill :)

Oh yes, be very wary of generic BC too. I had been on Ortho Tri Cyclen for 10 years with no problems and then insurance changed me to the generic Trinessa and it was horrific with the anxiety and panic. It took me a while to put it all together and then I switched back and everything was fine. Just recently found out Trinessa had been taken off the market for failing to "break down the chemicals properly." Sheesh.....
