first, I am on Zoloft for anxiety and Wellbutrin to lower the sexual side effects of the Zoloft.
I am wondering if this is depressive behavior-zit picking. I mean, I don't break out a lot, I do have extremely oily skin but I find myself on the bathroom counter messin' with the blackheads. Most turn into acutal zits bc of me bothering with them, I got to wondering tonight (while I was up on the sink) if that was something I need to look into. I am starting to see a psychologist for a number of things, and am wondering if I should bring it up to her..
thanks if you can shed some light.

Hi! I have heard that picking can be part of anxiety, but first let me tell you that I do the EXACT same thing! I get myself so picked (I have even figure out ways to squeeze the oil out before it even becomes anything) that I am embarrassed for anyone to see my face before I go to bed. I turn out the lights to try to keep my red face from my HB. :o

I read in a women's mag once that some drs were actually prescribing ads or anti anxiety meds to help women stop. The only thing that I have done that helps me keep my hands off is to wash my face at night with just the bedroom light on and the bathroom light off so I can barely see my face in the mirror and am not tempted to start. I know once I start I will not stop for at least 20 minutes or so. Its almost trance-like. I know the damage that I am doing to my skin. :nono: I have cringed when I notice the scarring and poc marking. But turning out the light is the only way I can make it stop.

Please let me know if you find anything that helps!

My mom was telling me she does that on her chin. She see's a psychiatrist and was told it is OCD. Especially if you keep doing it and can't stop even though you know you should. I think I have some OCD traits and have found myself doing things like that or other things and have managed to talk myself out of doing them. Like when I was a teenager when I would set my alarm clock I would check it 20 times before I could go to sleep to make sure I had really set it. I grew out of that.

I do that many times a day every day, I sit on top of the sink when I do it alot too. My mom and dad does it too. I think that it is normal.
