I was on 500 mg of Amoxicillan for a tooth extraction and I lost the pills. I recently found them and took 3 of them to "double up" on what I missed. A few days later I developed what I thought was thrush in my mouth. Then a day later I developed herpes symptoms painful bumps, fever, painful urination, achy feeling. Just recently found out that it was it and was diagnosed with "herpes". I had no idea! Anyways, I told the dr. about my mouth and that i thought it was thrush because that is common after large doses of antibiotics but he didn't look in my mouth or anything. So, the first thing he does is starts telling me about how many HIV patients get the thrush and the outbreaks at the same time so he thought I may be HIV positive and he basically scared the hell out of me. I am in the process of waiting for these results and I'm beside myself. I don't know how to keep going through the day. I was tested back in August for HIV and other STDS and it came back negative. I haven't had any other parnters since then either.

your doctor is an idiot and should be hauled under a truck for his lack of professionalism. This makes me furious. Go with your gut. YOu are negative. Oh, and go get another doctor! chris

Hey! I got my results back and they said "nonreactive" no antibodies. I guess this is good? The western block also said the same.
