Hi, my name is Kristin and I'm new to the boards. I have been suffering with anxiety and panic for over 8 years. I have been obsessed with my thoughts and health. I have had every test done, no problems. i constantly worry that i have a terrible diseaes that the dr's have over looked. i read medical books and look up diseases all the time. I also check my pulse, pupils, and blood pressure all the time. is this ocd? Does anyone else do this? :) I have all symptoms from dizziness, heart racing, tingles in fingers, sob, etc. i just started cymbalta and xanax with a little relief.I was on celexa for 5 yaers and did great. decided I was good enough to go off meds. 5 months latter bam...panic all over again. I s it normal to feel symptoms all day long with attacks in between? This is how it has been. Does anyone like cymbalta? Any side effects. How do i know this is anxiety and not a terrible disease? I hope to hear from some of you. As you can tell I am very upset that it has come back full throttle.

Hi
sounds like hypochondria, a serious problem that most docs dont know how to deal with
get a self help book on overcoming worry
the cymbalta hopefully will work like the celexa did, its common for anxiety to return when an antidepressant is stopped

you need to learn new ways of relaxing and calming yourself, gentle exercise is very relaxing
read up about fight or flight response, details on the net

stay with us

Hi Kristin & welcome, glad to have you here. I know I was really happy to find this board & find out that I am not alone!

My anxiety actually just started last May, just after I quit smoking, of all things!!

I am getting ready to try Cymbalta myself, most likely... still working with the doctor on that, so maybe you can keep us posted on how that works for you.

Hopefully things will start getting better!
Take care, Jules
