Hi all...

I've been having an ongoing battle with mono the last 2 months... and I am now just finding out alot of my pain may have not been the mono but my anxiety. The past few weeks I've had extreme sensitivity to light and now I am seeing spots. Sometimes I'll see black spots, and other times I see white sparkles. The color/shape varies. I also developed eye floaters, which have increased in size. Since I was told I had mono, I've been to 3 docs., 2 eye docs. (1 being a specialist), and the ER. It also looks like things having lots of little moving dots, but I'm almost positive my vision has been like that since I got sick, also... I had light sensitivity since day 1. But now it seems to be worse and I get after images off spiral bound note books and little stuff like that. Tomorrow I am going to counseling for my anxiety... i was just wandering if anyone has ever had any anxiety symptoms like this. (even from just re-reading what i wrote, I look up at the wall and see lines)
If they are anxiety symptoms its just making my anxiety worse because now I'm thinking i have a brain tumor!!
Thanks for any response. Take care. :bouncing:

Hi! Curious, I have been questioning myself about that too. In the past 2 days I have had a lot of light sensivity which is strange. I have been spending a lot of hours in the computer but I always do. Maybe this is a symptom of anxiety or something. I'm going to do some research.
I'm glad I'm not the only one having this.
Take care,
Joanna

I had light sesitivity also. I think mine came from starting Buspar. Went off that and the sensitivity went away. On new meds?

anxiety sufferers are often oversensitive to light, I was and needed sunglasses often
floaters in vision are sometimes normal
anxiety as a cause is often diagnosed by eliminating everything else

severe anxiety can cause blurred or fading vision or tunnel vision

I, too, have had vision issues do to anxiety. Started a year ago, when I got really sick. Test after test, ruled out anything physical. I even went to an eye specialist and he said that my eyes were fine, and what I had was anxiety issues.......... I've been seeing floaters for about a year now, somedays they are really noticeable, and other days I can't tell I have them. They range in size and shape and darkness. Some look like music notes LOL, and some look like squiggly lines, and some look like viruses. LOL. Who knows, Im just learning to accept them.

I am this way too if I look at the lights on cop cars I have to turn away because I start to feel dizzy and eventualy nauseated ,really hard when you are on a vol, fire dept and your hubby is assistent cheif lol so I just try and avoid seeing the lights and if its strobe lights OMG thats way worse I get very dizzy and will have a panic attack I took my little ones to a Halloween dance at our community center this past yr they started turning on the strobe light and when it was on I had to ask a friend to watch my kids so I could go outside to get away from it.I also get the floaters so I thought oh no do I have high blood pressure? or diabetes? but nothing has been found
