Hi,
My doc added Wellbutrin to my Effexor. I was wondering if wellbutrin is an effective A'D when used alone? Cuz i heard that it doesnt affect serotonin!
Thanx!

I think it does affect serotonin, as well as norepinephrine and dopamine. Not sure about the latter. I don't have personal experience with Wellbutrin and haven't heard that much about it as a stand alone a/d. Surely someone else here will know.

Well butrin is a mild anti depressant. It is not as strong as other ssri's it actually different it is bupropin.
It is most effective if you get plenty of sleep. The great news is it has little or no sexual side effects!!.
Ive taken it for a year or longer. I have to stop taking because I get bad twitching and rapid heart beat. I am also on the strongest dosage. It's been the best anti depressant I ve taken.
