Hello,

I've been having a terrible itching under my arms lately. I thought it was due to a new deodorant I had bought, but I stopped using it and bought another, but its still itching really really bad, and today Ive developed a rash.. has anyone any input on what this could be, I've never itched so much..especially under my arms...

It probably was the new deodorant, but now that the skin has been irritated its not healing. Try some hydrocortizone cream or benedryl cream, and if possible lay off any deodorant for a day or 2.

Hi,
I had the same thing when I was little and tried multiple deodriants and the same thing happened again and again and I know it is excruciatingly painfull.
SO what I eventually did was for a period wore no deodriant no perfume, and than slowly incoperated using a little talcum powder for a little while and than later on I discovered I was able to tolerate mum deodriant.

I had the same thing a few months ago, and I didnt have a new deoderant. The dermatalogist said he sees it frequently in his office and gave me hydrocortisone cream. The cream helped immensly. I had been trying new deoderants, soaps, anything. Nothing helped but the hydrocortisone cream.

Old post but I was allergic to deodorants too. There is a deodorant stone that you can get at health food stores. It is made of mineral salts only. It works as a deodorant because bacteria cannot grow in the presence of these minerals. It is not an antiperspirant, however. It works well for me and it is healthy I guess because it doesn't have any aluminum which is worrisome with alzheimers.

I had this a few months ago and thought it was my deoderant too. Turns out it was my new detergent. Tide Coldwater I think. After I switched to All Free & Clear I was fine and started to use my old deoderant again with no problems.

Ironically had the same issue recently. Used same brand for eons. Switched to their "gel" version and OMG the itching. Now cannot use original deodorant at all without seriout itching.

Switched to Almay roll-on. Tolerable. Perhaps not as effective come Summer, but will wait and see.

What's amazing is I don't even have a visible rash. It just itches like crazy. I look like a chimpanzee when taking care of my scratching urge.

Thats strange, now that I think of it, this started when I switched to Tide Coldwater too. Hum....
