Does any one have any updates on how they are doing post gum surgery? Was it all worth it?

I just had my last gum surgery yesterday - 90% of my mouth was done. Yesterday was the worst because it was the upper left side - far in the back. The pain was really bad yesterday. Today, it's much better. I hope it was all worth it - pain and $$. The perio said I had to be watched very carefully - come in every 3 months for cleaning and check ups. I want to keep my teeth, so I didn't have a choice.
