I just started taking clomid (100 mg) from days 5 - 9 (combined with injectibles for an IUI). I have heard that some people get cysts from using clomid. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how common it is to get cysts from clomid.

Does it happen only on real high doses, or if you use it for many months. Or is it possible for me to get cysts from using it for only two or three months at 100 mg???

Any thoughts would be so helpful, as I am worried that something bad will happen from me using clomid. (I took my first dose last night)

From what I understand, it is always possible to get a cyst from using any of these drugs. It depends on how your body reacts. The important thing is to get close monitoring from your Dr. I had one cyst removed last summer. I have started some different drugs the past few months and I may have another cyst starting to develop. There are many factors that contribute to this though, so just make sure your Dr. does sonograms to check.

Thanks for the info.....i have an ultrasound set for cycle day 13. I guess if there's a cyst it will show up by then????

Ask your doctor about using metformin with clomid increases chances of conception and gets rid of the cysts
