12 years ago I had my gall bladder removed. I had been suffering with abdominal pain for many years till it got to the point one night where I was in agony and my husband rushed me to casualty.
I had a scan which showed I had 1 very large stone the size of a goose egg in the gallbladder and because the pain was only leaving me for short intervals and I was constantly being sick I had a laperoscopy operation to remove the stone and gallbladder a few days later.
8 days after the operation I woke with the most awful pain on the top right side of my stomach going through to my shoulder. I was in agony but was told it was just wind from the laperoscopy and over the next few weeks it did start to calm down but took months to completely go. Also when this pain started I went yellow and my liver function tests were very high, again this did calm down in time. All I was given at the time was very strong anti biotics that made me feel constantly sick. Now 12 years on I have started to get a pain just like the gall bladder pain, I went to see my doctor and had a liver function test it came back that my ALT was 91 it was repeated again last week and this time it was 97. I am sure now that the pain I had after my operation was not wind but a gallstone in my liver. I have mentioned this to the doctor and I am now waiting a scan. My question is can a stone be left in the liver and cause the pain I had and turn me yellow has this happened to any one else.

Sorry to hear you're going through this. Yes, stones can reside in the liver as well as fat masses (fatty liver). Anything that is foreign in your liver can cause elevation in the enzymes. If you have read any of my past posts, you will know I'm a liver flusher follower---and have read the stones are actually formed in the liver and then dropped down to the gallbladder via the liver ducts. Your best bet is what you're doing---going to a Dr and getting a diagnosis after the correct testing. Hang in there :)

Thanks very much for your reply. I was thinking about trying the liver flush but not sure which is best to follow. may I ask what liver flush you do?
I am not just getting pain I feel so tired all the time... every thing is an effert and I want my life back as it was... I have read that liver flush stops the tiredness. So I would be very gratefull for your input. Thanks again.. Sandra

I wouldn't necessarily try the flush until you hear something from your Dr. Even though flushing can't hurt you---you wouldn't want to get something stirred up in there that might irritate something that's already going on. If he says it's a stone, then I'd flush. If you go to the second page here on the liver forum under "My U/S Results", I believe you'll find the recipe and a lot of information regarding the flush that I used and a few others here on the board.
For me, flushing took away my insomnia and the pain/heavy feeling I had in my liver. I was hoping it would take about 50 pounds away, but no luck with that :) Good luck to you and hope you start feeling better.
