View Full Version : Dental Implant a success for 3 months now... can I get drunk yet?!

I read that people who drink alcohol are not good candidates for dental implants. I figure this must be somewhat bogus because everyone I know is a stone cold drunk and dental implants are very common. Also, my dentist has always poo-pooed the idea when I bring it up.

I presume this is during the healing / osseointegration phase?
It probably has something to do with bone density?

Hey, Toofless, I never heard that you couldn't drink *any* alcohol waiting for an implant or after getting one. The one thing I know is that smoking cigarettes definitely impedes the healing process.

Thanks for answering my question (I am the one with the hateful flipper tooth.)

You deserve the drinks after what you have been through!

Best wishes,
Karen
