View Full Version : not sleeping...need advice on relaxing!

Okay, so I started my first cycle of IVF with BCP and I'll start Lupron next Friday if all goes well with my next u/s. But I'm feeling really down lately.
At my first blood test and u/s, I was so weepy. :( First, my vein collapsed and then I thought something was wrong b/c I was waiting so long and they said I had to see the doctor while everyone else was just walking right out after only waiting a little bit. I found out it was just standard to meet with the doc on the cd3, but I was late for work, and felt really unsettled about that.
Now, BOTH my arms are bruised and seem to be getting more black and blue every day! :p I'm not sure why they bruise every time I give blood but I'd hate to see what they look like when I have to go in there every day.
And, now I feel a slight cold coming on...probably becasue I am not sleeping very well at all. I keep waking up in the middle of the night and I'm wide awake.
So, now my sister says I stress over everything and I'm starting to think she's right. I know that it's important to be relaxed during the process and it makes sense that women who are, would have better success. And since I'm not even up to the shots yet, I have a feeling that I'm only going to get worse.
Please, someone tell me how they stay calm and relaxed through this whole thing? I need help!! TIA!

hi KM,

I sorry your first app. didn't go as planned, I'm in the same boat with you. I'm going to start my first IVF cycle (with b/c) on day 2 that is sun 3/5..if this didn't fall on sun I don't know how I would make it going to work in the mornings..I'm totally stressed and I just starting. It is hard when everyone tells us to be calm, making timely app and shots and most of all developing eggs that are mature and ready to go is very mind bothering..But I'm glad you wrote down ur feeling so I know I'm not lone.. Thanks soo much Let please keep in contact..

Thanks Neptina for responding!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way...really b/c I feel so alone. I guess that's why I come to these boards. I'm glad that we will be practically on the same cycle. :bouncing: I started BCP on Thurs. the 2nd.

I have a question, did you take injections with your iui? I'm freaking out about those! Especially since I saw the progesterone needle!!!

I think I'm feeling down too because part of me wishes it wasn't this hard. I have seen so many other women, including my friends who got pg, like it was nothing. And, I really wanted to lose more weight before I am pg, but I really don't want to wait any longer. That depresses me too. And, my mom has chronic enphysema (sp?) and getting worse every week. I'm not sure how long this whole thing will take or how long she will be around. I'm really hoping she can see my first child born. That would mean the world to me.

Anyway, I just have to vent. I feel I have these pent up emotions that are eating away at me. Thanks for taking the time to read and respond.

yes, I'm soo happy I have a buddy now..Yes I took shots w/ fertinex in the stomache very small shots though. back in 1999 and was sucess my first go around..I really do understand when you say "why is it so hard" because some women get pg the exact month sometime the day that they want..bummer..I do pray your mom WILL be around for your blessing that would be even more special. Since I know I have a buddies I will be looking for you.. Take care Neptina
