Hello everyone.

I have a question about hypothroidism and menopause. I am hypo and take Levothroid for it. I have been on a dosage for a few years and have done just fine with it. In the last month or so since I am now newly post-menopauseal it seems that dosage is way to high for me now.

Anyone here who has hypothroidism find they needed to DEcrease they medicine after menopause?

Thanks!

I am a thryoid patient too, but not always so great with the information! I know when folks take estrogen in HRT they often need to increase thyorid meds so it seem to make sense the other way around....After meno you have less estrogen right? You can get a better explanation on the thryoid board as to the whys...but I do believe you could need less. Pixiek
