Hi,

Some of you may remember me. I had a fusion with rods and screws on 10/30/2005, l5-s1. Well I was having some problems about four weeks after surgery, but the doctor told me they were normal. I was having some lower back pain and hip pain. The hip pain was from the piece they took out to do the fusion.

Well, I have been back to work for 5 weeks now. I started at 4 hours a day for 3 weeks and now I am at 6 hours. I still have lower back pain, but I am trying to build the muscles up by riding a stationary bike and walking and it seems to be helping. I have been off all narcotics for 5 weeks and I feel really good.

I have had back problems for 3 years and finally when I decided that surgery was the only way to go the pain I had before is no longer there. I am really glad that I did it, although it is only a 50-50 chance of fixing the problem. At least that is what the doctor told me.

It feels so good to be back at work. I have a desk job, so there is no heavy lifting. I can lift up to 15 lbs. now.

I really wish all of you could have the success I have had. Lets just keep our fingers crossed that it will continue.

Thanks for listening,

Judy

I am so happy for you. It seems like you are on the right track to healing. I just responded to a post from shari42 titled "in the dark". I hope she finds this post, because I think it might help her. If you have the time, perhaps you can read her post and give her your insights.

Once again, congrats!
