Hi ..

My daughter had root canal last year. Yesterday her crown came out when she bit into a cookie. She is out of state, so went to her friends dentist to have the crown recemented. There was no pain and the post was in tact. The dentist took an x ray and recemented the tooth. The charge was $125.00. The procedure took 10 Minutes.

I say the xray was not nessacery, since the tooth was root canaled and the charge was rather high.

Any estimates on the cost of recementing a crown by another dentist and is an xray nessacery?

Please comment. Thanks

I can see an out of state/different dentist taking an x-ray as they had never seen her before. This could be done to make sure that there was no infection developing (even though a root canal was done, it can get an infection again), or a fracture. It would not be good for that dentist to recement the crown and then have something go wrong. Otherwise it would have been why didn't they take the x-ray first. Other than that, I have no idea what the prices are....
