View Full Version : Piles?

Hi everyone. This is really embarassing for me to write but I need some help and input.

Basically I'm starting to think I might have piles or a rectal/anal infection. I dont know how I got it but I'm a very clean person and my personal hygeine is very good.

I'm 19 nearly 20. Last night I was scratching all over my bottom and alan/rectal area and I couldn't stop. The irritation/itching was so bad it was driving me crazy. I applied cream which didn't work so washed it all off and applied some more cream. Eventually I found some eczema cream and used that and after half a hour it eased the itching. But I was so sore! I could swear the cream was literally boiling and red hot after I applied it.

I've had this itching before but not to this extent. Im not passing any blood but my stools do change. Sometimes I can go a day or two without passing a stool or get diahrrehea for no reason. When I get diahreehea I usually have bad stomach cramps. I'm also very "windy" the last 3 days. Its embarassing.

Two weeks ago I did have the most awful pain in my life. I had sharp, agonising lower abdominal pains that went to my privates and through my rectal area. I couldn't sit down and it was relieved two hours after taking pain killers. I didn't see the doctor about it because I avoid them like the plague lol.

What does this sound like? Could it be piles or something else? How is piles diagnosed? Can I buy some cream to apply that will stop this?

Thank you.

I know you don't want to see a doctor, but you really should. This could be a serious problem if you don't take care of it now. I'm having a similar problem, no itching, but a lot of pain and I don't want to see the doctor either, but sooner or later if it doesn't get better I'm going to have to and you really should to for your own safety.

Hiya Moody

Thanks for your reply hun. Yeah I should go but I really dont want to. I keep thinking of flashing my rear end at the doctor and I wish a hole would open and swallow me up because its so embarassing.

I've checked down there today and I cant feel any bumps but I have found some split skin thats weeping a bit. I think this is my problem and not piles thank god. I've got no idea how this happened. Maybe scratching too much and caught the skin with my nail or something. No idea really but I think all I need is some infection cream and I'll be fine.

Im sorry your in so much pain. Definitely see a doctor ok? You need to get checked and hopefully find something to help with your pain.

Piles (or hemmhoroids) don't cause any sort of abdominal pain, it's just localized inside the butt... You really sound like you have IBS, but I know exactly how you feel about doctors. IBS is one of those things that every test under then sun has to be done to "RULE OUT" (I can't STAND those words!) everything else! You are young so I doubt it is anything bad, and IBS does usually present itself at your age. But, I am not a doctor and no one can diagnose you except a doc... but at least maybe you can do some IBS research on the internet and see what you come up with, you may be able to ease your mind until you actually do see a doctor. And if this has been going on only a few days, wait it out, it may just resolve on its own in a few weeks.
Now about the itching - THAT could be piles or I hate to say this - pinworms! Does the itch get really bad in the evening when you go to bed? If so, it could be that, they are very easily cleared up with a round of pills, and it's not from being dirty, it can be caught very easily. They can even cause sharp pains inside your butt if it's getting really bad. Check your stool, see if you see them.

Hiya Sun.

This has been happening for a few months now hun. Yep very very itchy at night. I checked my stools and I haven't seen anything. God I hope it isnt worms. Never had them in my life. Eeww. *shivers* What do they look like in your stools? I'll keep a eye out. I couldn't get a appointment yesterday so hopefully i'll get one tomorrow morning early.

I really think its a infection. I found some skin that feels split so I'm guessing its that. Thanks for your reply hun. x

My daughter had them, got them from a neighbors little girl who'd always sit on her bed with just her underwear! They are about a half inch long and white. A few days of pills got rid of them.

Pinworm. Very very common, but you'll need to sterilize the house while you're being treated. You need a prescription for mebendazole - should clear it right up.

Hi guys.

I've checked my stools again and I cant see any white bits or anything out of the ordinary so I really dont think its pinworm. But thank you again. x

You typically can't see the eggs or worms in your stools. Pinworm is very very small.
