I am so frightened that I have hiv. The last few years I have made some bad choices in my sex life. I have had unprotected sex with a few different guys. I get this burning feeling all the time.. like i'm really sweaty.. it's hard to describe. I have decided to get an at home testing kit (home access) which is FDA approved. I'm scared to take the test. What if i'm positive ? I really don't know what to do, but I have a bad feeling that I am posiitive. I have decided to not have sex again until I'm in a monogomous relationship, more than likely when i'm married. Any words of support or advice would be appreciated.

Well Nicky i can only tell you ONE THING ONLY :
"Go and get tested"
that's right , its the only sane thing to do now , or just use that home testing kit and then go for a couple of real HIV tests in a good lab , if u have it , then u have it , if u don't , then that's great , and u can resume your normal life again.
the human body has a very powerful nervous system that is capable of making real good hoaxes , and whats so speacial about them is that it can actually make your body create complete HIV symptoms out of nothing , believe that...just get your self together and do what i told you , cos thats what majority of people in this board are gonna tell you !
Good Luck and Best Wishes !

It IS scary, Nicky...so, it's OK that you are frightened. But, you are already taking the first brave steps. You are a very strong person who can deal with whatever comes before you.
Keep in mind that just because you've been irresponsible in the past doesn't make you automatically HIV positive...trust me.
Try to keep your mind occupied and busy while you wait on your results. Try to stay off the net because if you try you can find anything to make yourself feel worse.
And, I don't know your faith, but I believe in prayer, Nicky. It gets me through SOOO many tough times.
I'll, of course, keep you in my prayers, love.
God bless,
Cali

Hey Nicky... just checking on you. The others are right. You definitely need to get checked. The worse thing you can do is not to get checked. I'm sure most of us have been in your shoes before. I have and the sad thing is I have more than once. I lived that "wild, carefree" life and I regreted it but I always went back for more once I heard the good news. Now I am loving a man who has AIDS and I still get nervous at time. Even though it's the life I choose to live I still find myself worrying quite often. The funny thing is we aren't active. We've been together twice and once was before we knew he had it many, many years ago. Moods was right....our minds work in a way that if we constantly worry about it we will believe it. Hence my user name. I started here years ago under the panic attack boards. Then I found myself believing I was truly crazy and thinking I was schizophrenic. I actually even heard things that weren't there cause my mind was playing tricks on me. The only way to comfort yourself is to get tested. You take care and keep us posted!!! Everyone is here for you!
