Does anyone else have that special sort of cat (or pet) that finds all your tender points? My "Beast" does: he'll wake me up from a deep sleep crawling on me. Sometimes it makes me want to jump out of my skin, so I toss him off of me, and he persistantly returns. Any suggestions on how to ward off such behavior from a beloved pet? A Tired Cat Lover.....

My cat, Kitty Tom, likes to sleep right on my chest, he weighs about 15 pounds. When he lies down he wants to lick my chin. I move my mouth so that while I am actually breathing normal, my breath hits him almost in the face. He'll back up a little and he's so big as he's turning to get comfortable he falls off me.
You know usually cats will do what they want, not what you want, I suggest pulling him close to you if you're on your side, when I do this Kitty Tom goes down to the foot of the bed. But first I pet him for a while, scratching his ears, that sort of thing, I figure he wants attentiona nd he knows I hurt too, so he wants to make me feel better, but with his weight, it doesn't work that way.
I have 2 chihuahuas and I haven't quite figured out how to keep them from jumping, walking on me while I'm in bed, or from trying to lay on my upper back when I'm in my reliner bent over the computer. Taco is there right now and it's hard to convince him it doesn't feel good. He and Ginger are worse when I try to take a nap, they're all over the place in bed, including being all over me. Hopefully as they get older they'll do that less.
Hope some of this helped a little.

welcome to the board jadas,
i keep a spray bottle by my bed with water in it. when one of my 4 kitties decides to be naughty and needy i spray their face. i have been doing this for 12 years. these days all i have to do is pick it up. light or dark they see it and run.
i am fortunate in that all my cats are sensitive and very careful how they place their weight on me. they watch my eyes to see if i can tolerate it. if not they are happy to lie next to me.
i do have one cat, she is a snot. she used to run across my head in the middle of the night. found the squirt bottle after i moved and that stopped.
again allow me to welcome you. there are some really wonderful people here and new faces all the time. kind and gentle souls all walking similar journeys.
peace,
bluelakelady

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try them, my cat has the purrfect size paws to really hit those tender points, boy. He is a small kitty but as you know well enough any pressure is too much. He'll do this during the day too... gurrrr Thanks BlueLakeLady for the welcome.

No real suggestions but I want to say I have a calico that is very light on her feet but when she walks on my thighs and chest, OMG, the pain is excruciating.
