Hi y'all!
I'm hoping someone can leand a little advice. Do you think having my wisdom teeth removed and continuing with good oral hygiene will keep my gum disease symptoms from returning?

Here's what happened. My dentist told me last summer that all 4 of my wisdom teeth are cavities. I finally got up the courage to meet with an oral surgeon and my surgery is scheduled for 04/15.
During my cosultation, my oral suregon told me I also have the beginning signs of gum disease and he indicated some discoloration on the roof of my mouth. In some ways this was actually a relief to me because for the past couple of years, I keep having a recurring and very painful sore that appears in that very spot. It almost looks like a severe burn that has blistered and become infected (TMI, sorry!).
My family Dr was basically no help. He just told me it was a virus that would go away on its own. Well it does go away after about a week of using Gly-Oxide, but then 6-7 months later it always comes back :(

Pelase tell me that having my wisdom teeth out will keep the pain at bay...
