Feeling unusual mid back pain last three days. Periodically thru out the day shallow breathing at times. Last night while watching TV mid back became more intense..like deep spasm in mid back..sometimes feels like when your foot falls asleep but its in the mid back area. Does not last long. I way lying on the counch some what crunched up. Dont feel it when lying on sides but more noticable when lying flat on my back. Im hoping its the after effects of the surgery. Has anyone had this surgery and experience something simiular.
I had a stress test prior to the surgery Feb. 28. Came out good. The pain I had prior to the surgery was different, and appears to be gone but this current pain is new?

I didnt have the surgery (yet) but i think i have GB problems and get the pain in the back- midback ( between middle of the ribs on the right and left side in back and on sides too) it ranges from a burning to a constant sore ache- it's deep in there. Also have pain in upper right quadrant over GB area- sore when i press down.
can you describe your pain from before surgery vs now? how is it different.
my pain is constant- was yours?
did they check out your liver and do blood tests before surgery? made sure this wasnt any hepatitis?

Prior to surgery pain was sporatic..floating type of pain..mid back left side..right side..but never on the right front (classical pain). Dr. said I did not get this type of pain because there were no stones..I was diag. with a dysfunctional gallbladder (hida scan). This pain is somewhat new since surgery, maybe gastritis will be seeing my dr soon for follow up. When this pain is present I feel my throat sometimes spasm.

i'm sorry to bother you about this- but when you say prior to surgery and the pain was 'floating' do you mean one day it hurt on one side and one day another side? was the pain there despite what you ate?
did they make sure you did not have any hepatitis virus?

Thru out the day the pain would float mid back..left back..right back. Was more pronounced after eating but many hours later would feel the pain but not intense. Today my surgeon stated that it is common that midback pain as well as shoulder pain are symptoms after surgery. I asked my surgeon today if it could be my pancreaus and he said no. Pancretitis would be very sever Id be coming to the ER. Im hoping it goes away after a couple of weeks. Today is the 10th day after surgery. The pain as I sit here is mid back and burning pain. I also feel it above my mid back area near the base of my neck. Like spasm. Feels this deep in the back of my tongue?

I had my GB removed about 5 years ago, I had the same probems that you are describing however, I was still in the hospital with a fever. I was in for 11 days after the surgery. In any case I was told that the pain was a result of the diaphram being punctured by the Laproscopic tool. what was alarming to me was they told me that this could caue pneumonia, and they started breahing treatments for me. You saying you feel out of breath kind of sounds the same. I would call your doctor and le thim know how your feeling.
