About a month ago, I was eating a salad when my stomach started to swell, and I began burping constantly. I left work early since my stomach was killing me, and I then proceded to vomit. The next couple of days I stayed at home, thinking I had just eaten something bad. I went to the doctor when the symptoms persisted (bloating, belching, tightness in chest), and he discovered a slight hiatal hernia (with endoscopy). All else was fine, duodenum, stomach lining, etc....no H. Pylori either.
I was put on a H2 blocker to control the acid, but my symptoms have only gotten worse....now I'm tasting acid in my mouth along with having headaches and watery eyes. My mind is starting to play tricks on me, and I swear its something serious like hepatitis, aids, etc.....self diagnosis can do this to you! :-) even thought I had thrush for awhile.
Are my symptoms classic hiatal hernia signs, and I need to give my search a rest, and just try a stronger antacid....or should I get a second opinion? perhaps its a bacterial infection??? I'm at a loss and this is really causing me anxiety and stress that I don't need.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi clill,
You do need a better medicine for your stomach problems. Like Prilosec, Prevacid or Nexium or some other type like those. You also need to be seeing a Gastrenterologist, if you are not already going going to one.
There are lots of rules to follow (what to eat and posture and such), when you have a hiatal hernia.
Good Luck!

Try drinking apple cider vinegar mixed with honey.....(health food store) helped my husband's problems quickly. He has the same thing. Has for years. Also at the health food store there is something called papaya Enzyme..it looks like a roll of rolaids...and it works so well................try the natural stuff...you'll be amazed
